Disegno Interno

The publication DISEGNO INTERNO – Eva Švankmajerová, Jan Švankmajer – was released on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name, held at the Central Bohemian Gallery in Kutná Hora (GASK) from March to August 2024.

Just as the exhibition at GASK does not claim to be an “encyclopedic” retrospective, this publication does not aim to comprehensively cover the lifelong work of Eva Švankmajerová and Jan Švankmajer in a monographic way. Instead, it reflects and documents this unique exhibition project, realized for Jan Švankmajer's 90th birthday.

In addition to a rich visual section thoroughly mapping the artistically conceived installation of the exhibition, the publication also contains several other texts – texts by the exhibition curator Richard Drury, the author of the accompanying program Petr Adámek, and the author of the educational program Karin Vrátná Militká. Texts by Eva Švankmajerová and Jan Švankmajer also feature prominently, representing a unique level of expression related to their visual work.
